Dr. Carmin Gonzalez is a Port Saint Lucie native and is proud to return to her hometown to provide exceptional dental care to her community. As the sister of Dr. Giovanni Gonzalez, she shares his commitment to advanced dentistry, continuing education, and compassionate patient care.
Dr. Gonzalez earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Touro College of Dental Medicine in New York.
She completed a one-year AEGD residency through NYU Langone, followed by several years as an associate under the mentorship of esteemed implant dentist Dr. Todd Shatkin, where she gained extensive experience in one-piece dental implants and surgical procedures. She also served for two years as clinical dental faculty for NYU, sharing her knowledge with future dental professionals.
Her commitment to advanced care led her to complete a year-long intensive full-mouth reconstruction residency in New York City under renowned prosthodontist Dr. Dean Vafiadis, who remains a valued mentor and friend. Dr. Gonzalez is a student of the Kois Center in Seattle, holds a surgical fellowship from the Resnik Implant Institute, and is a fellowship candidate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Dr. Gonzalez strives to complete 200 hours of continuing education every year, allowing her to remain at the forefront of modern dentistry and bring the latest procedures, technologies, and treatment techniques to her patients. She is passionate about implant dentistry, full-mouth reconstruction, and regenerative medicine, including the use of PRF in surgical and aesthetic facial procedures.
Above all, Dr. Gonzalez believes that excellent dentistry begins with compassion. She understands that visiting the dentist can be overwhelming, especially for patients who experience dental anxiety or fear. Her gentle, patient-centered approach is designed to help every individual feel heard, respected, and comfortable throughout their dental journey.
Returning to Port Saint Lucie is more than a professional milestone for Dr. Gonzalez; it is an opportunity to give back to the community that shaped her. She is honored to serve her neighbors and families by providing high-quality, comprehensive dental care in an environment built on trust, education, and genuine connection.
Outside of dentistry, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her significant other, Louie, their Pomeranian Otis, as well as their family and friends.
Your dentist, Giovanni Gonzalez, is a port St. Lucie native. Born in Chicago, IL he was raised and grew up most of his life in Port St Lucie. After graduating high school and completing his Bachelor’s degree of Biology at The University of South Florida in Tampa and later his postgraduate Doctoral Degree of Dental Medicine at NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, our doctor is happy to bring his dental care and compassion back to serve his hometown Port St. Lucie and the neighboring communities.
Dr. Gonzalez is very passionate about his profession and has dedicated himself to being a lifelong student and an avid learner of all things dentistry. He prides himself in being up to date with the newest advances in technology and techniques that are supported by evidence based research.
He has spent countless hours in continuing education throughout his career, and is a student at the Kois Center of evidence based dentistry in Seattle, Washington. He also completed and graduated from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Maxicourse.
As a general dentist, Dr. Gonzalez’s treatment focuses on preventative dentistry, dental disease control, gum infection treatment, oral surgery procedures, dental implants, dental prosthetics, and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Gonzalez believes that everyone deserves to have a good quality of life, a healthy well being, and a healthy smile. He believes that in order to be better we must know better, and is committed to working together with his patients to reach that goal.
In his free time, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys being with his family and friends. He is an avid traveler and enjoys visiting different countries, learning about their history and culture, and trying different foods. He enjoys being physically active and is into health and fitness, going to sporting events, attending live music events, spending time in nature, and reading a good book or watching a good movie.
